Privacy-First & Local-First Processing We fundamentally believe that your data belongs to you. That's why PlaceCard.us is built with a local-first architecture.

• Your Data Stays on Your Device: When you import spreadsheets or create labels, all data processing, rendering, and PDF generation happens locally on your own computer or within your browser.
• No Cloud Uploads: We do not upload your spreadsheets, label designs, or generate PDFs on our servers. Your sensitive business or personal data never leaves your device.

We collect the minimum data necessary depending on the platform you use:

1. Standalone Mac Desktop App

The Mac App is designed for absolute privacy and operates entirely offline.

• Zero Analytics/Tracking: We do not include Google Analytics, Plausible, or any other tracking software in our Mac desktop application.
• Zero Data Uploads: Your spreadsheets, designs, and exports never leave your device.
• No Accounts Required: Basic usage requires no sign-in or data sharing.
• Purchases: In-App Purchases are handled natively and securely via Apple’s App Store (StoreKit). We do not collect or store your Apple ID or payment information.

2. Web Application (placecard.us)

When using our cloud-based web application, we collect limited data to provide our services:

• Account Information: Name, email address, and authentication details when creating an account for cloud syncing and subscription management.
• Usage Details & Analytics: Anonymous information about how you use the web app (e.g., via Google Analytics) to help us improve the interface and features.
• Device Information: Browser type and OS data to optimize web performance.
• Cookies: Standard web cookies to keep you logged in and save preferences.

Account Data Retention and Deletion:

• Retention: We retain the personal information collected via Google Sign-In (such as your name and email address) for as long as your account remains active. We may periodically delete data from accounts that have been inactive for more than 24 months to ensure your privacy.
• Deletion: You have the right to request the deletion of your account and all associated data at any time. To do so, please contact us via email at [email protected]. Upon receiving your request, we will permanently remove your profile and all associated data from our active databases within 30 days.

3. Google Workspace Data Disclosure

Our Google Sheets Add-on (PDF Mail Merge) accesses your spreadsheet data using the spreadsheets.currentonly scope. We use this data solely to:

1. Detect column headers to help you map fields.
2. Transfer the row data into your browser's local storage for PDF generation.

Data Retention and Deletion:

• Retention: We do not store or persist your Google user data (such as spreadsheet content) on our servers. All data processing occurs locally within your browser session or is passed via secure transient parameters to our web application for the sole purpose of generating labels. We do not maintain any database of your spreadsheet content.
• Deletion: Since we do not persist your Google user data, there is no data to delete from our servers. Users can revoke the Add-on's access to their Google account at any time through Google Account Security Settings. Once access is revoked, the Add-on will no longer have any access to your data.

Important: We do not store, log, or transmit your spreadsheet content to our servers. All data remains in your browser's memory and is cleared once the tab is closed. Our use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

4. Payment and Billing Information

• What We Collect: We do not store or process your full credit card information, PayPal account details, or Apple ID payment details on our servers.
• Purpose: All payment transactions are securely processed through trusted third-party payment gateways such as Stripe and PayPal (for web) and Apple's In-App Purchase system (for macOS). These payment processors handle your billing information directly in accordance with their own strict privacy and security policies. We only receive confirmation that a payment was successful to provision your Pro access.

Data Storage and Security

We take the security of your personal information seriously. The data we collect is stored securely on our servers, and we implement a variety of security measures including encryption and access controls to protect against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction of your personal information. However, please be aware that no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

Information Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your personal information to outside parties, except in the following circumstances:

• To comply with legal obligations or respond to lawful requests from public authorities.
• To protect our rights, property, or safety, or that of our users or others.
• To provide services through trusted third-party partners who assist us in operating our website or conducting our business, subject to confidentiality agreements.
